If we look beyond the fact that you would get to work with some of the greatest minds in our industry, we can offer quite exciting tasks within our Commercial department.

Here are some of the things you can expect to do on a day-to-day basis as an Estimator in Ocean Installer:

  • Present estimates to Senior Management team.
  • Identify and analyse critical commercial items for a successful bid.
  • Analysis of competitors and market forces and their effect on our bid.
  • Work closely with other OI departments such as Engineering, Legal, Finance, Asset Management to obtain accurate costing input.
  • Comparing cost estimates with historical benchmarks and analysing deviations.
  • Identifying and quantifying cost uncertainties and associated risks.
  • Attend client clarification meetings and participate in commercial discussions/decisions.
  • Following and improving procedures to maintain the necessary quality and standards of estimating.
  • Implement and maintain the experience transfer processes between Projects and Commercial department.
  • Costing/pricing of bids
  • Adherence to procedures necessary for maintaining the necessary quality and standards of the bids.

  • A can-do attitude, love solving problems and enjoy challenging yourself and others to improve the status quo.
  • Educated to degree level, or have relevant work experience
  • Relevant work experience preferably within the Subsea Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Strong commercial knowledge and experience in tendering or project activities.
  • Organised and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform under high pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong analytical problem solving with organizational ability
  • Team player with focus at building relationships and leading teams. Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
