Your Contribution

If we look beyond the fact that you would get to work with some of the greatest minds in our industry, we can offer exciting tasks within our AMG department.  This is an offshore vessel position, where you would also attend onshore, office and other sites including equipment suppliers and shipyards to support the needs of the department.

Here are some of the things you can expect to do on a day-to-day basis as a Technical Superintendent in Ocean Installer.

  • Responsibility for supervising & direct equipment operations, repair, maintenance and upgrades and on any equipment in your charge, located on Company or Client vessels and worksites. Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Responsibility for leading a multi-discipline technical team to operate and carry out all Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic repairs, maintenance or upgrading on a wide range of Asset Management Group (AMG) equipment.
  • Compile work scopes for equipment upgrades and repairs/overhauls.
  • Compliance with Department policies and instructions and with Company HSEQ policies.
  • The role will require travel to/from company worksites and offshore vessels in various parts of the world on a flexible crew rotation cycle.
  • Participate in any/all vessel, project or client interfaces as necessary to support continued operations.
  • Logical fault-finding during breakdown situations.
  • Controlling a Company technical worksite and the day-to-day work assignments of a group of technicians of all disciplines.
  • Maintaining up-to-date periodic testing and certification records for all equipment under his/her control.
  • Scheduling the Planned Maintenance scheme for all equipment under his/her control and maintaining up-to-date records of same.
  • Compile and maintain technical records, reports and logs in a computerized maintenance system.
  • Ensuring that any on-site training of those personnel reporting to him/her is recorded in the Training Matrix.
  • Ensuring all equipment repairs etc. are carried out to the standards set by the Company.
  • Ensuring that all spares/replacement parts are ordered correctly in good time and are fit for purpose.
  • Providing technical advice and services to operational and internal users of equipment.
  • Report the performance and reliability of equipment in service to the Offshore Manager / Technical
  • Lead / Senior Company representative and onshore Equipment Support Engineers.
  • Assist / carry out necessary risk assessments prior to any equipment related M&R and refurbishment tasks.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of all technical disciplines. Familiarity with engineering drawings including manufacturing, general arrangement, and electrical drawings.

Essential

  • A technical engineering/discipline background with team leadership experience.
  • Trade Apprenticeship as a minimum within an Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic discipline or demonstrate substantial vocational experience.
  • Flexibility and team player.
  • Experience of supervising an installation or operational team offshore
  • Extensive trade experience after completion of apprenticeship with an Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic position.
  • Experience with vessel and mobile lay equipment.
  • Experience with mobilization / installation / commissioning and testing of first use or new-build equipment.

Desirable:

  • HNC or equivalent within a relevant Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic discipline.
  • Experience of the Offshore Industry and within the Subsea Industry.
  • Experience with diverse offshore equipment.
  • Experience with diving equipment.
  • BOSIET + Offshore Medical.
